How to download Pokémon Go for Android

If you want to play Pokémon Go on your Android device, and you’re not in a country that has made Pokémon Go available through the Google Play store, then the following instructions will show you how to download it from a third-party website.

Download the Pokémon Go APK file

First you need to allow your Android device to install and run apps downloaded from other places. Be cautious when you turn on this setting, as you’ll want to make sure you only download apps you know are safe and reliable.

Once it’s downloaded, swipe your finger down from the top of your Android device to see the notification area and select the Pokémon Go file, then select ‘Install’.

Pokémon Go will now install, letting you play right now. Happy hunting!

Here’s how to download Pokemon GO on iOS

All you need to do is open the website ios.hipestore.mobi on your device, and just search for Pokemon GO.

After selecting download now, you need to select the 1.0 version under the “Non Jailbreak” sub head – and then just press download. Press “Open in App Store” and then press install when it flashes, and you are done! You now have Pokemon GO downloading on your phone.

This website doesn’t always work and can show an error message when you try to download. If that is the case, simply try again after a few hours and it will work for you.

The game

I installed Pokemon Go on my iPhone 5s, but my experience with the game cannot be described as smooth. Considering that you have to be outside to play the game, you cannot depend on Wi-Fi to login; so I had a little trouble with the game signing-in, with the loading screen frozen until I restarted the game.

After logging, when I moved out in the open a wild Squirtle appeared. The camera turned on, and i was able to see the little guy in the foreground of the floor. With a flick of my Pokeball I was able to capture him. Capturing that first Pokemon did fulfill my childhood dream of running around and capturing a Pokemon.

I have noticed a few discrepancies with the GPS mapping, with my position in the game not changing even after walking a few paces. The game was able to map the roads and the building complexes well. A friend who installed the game as well did not have her camera turn on while capturing the Pokemon’s. This might just be another glitch in the game.
